Old full year guidance is still in AI answers
ChatGPT and Copilot repeat the April range. Copilot says guidance was kept, when it was raised. Google AI Overviews gets revenue right but keeps the old EPS range.
Sample Investor Answer Audit
What ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot told investors about Acme's Q2 2026 results, checked answer by answer against Acme's 8-K and 10-Q.
Fictional example. Acme Inc., its people and every figure on this page are made up to show the format. Nothing here describes a real company or a real AI answer. Real audits use your SEC filings and real, dated answers.
The 3 sentences a CFO reads first, then the numbers behind them.
Answer accuracy rate is correct answers divided by checkable answers. Some questions cannot be checked against a filing (investment advice and analyst consensus), so they are left out of the rate.
| Engine | Correct | Outdated | Wrong | Partly wrong | No answer | Not checkable | Accuracy |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | 19 | 5 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 2 | 68% |
| Google AI Overviews | 22 | 1 | 0 | 3 | 2 | 2 | 79% |
| Google AI Mode | 24 | 2 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 2 | 86% |
| Microsoft Copilot | 15 | 7 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 2 | 54% |
| All engines | 80 | 15 | 6 | 7 | 4 | 8 | 71% |
Each issue groups the errors that share one root cause. The fix list below solves them in order.
ChatGPT and Copilot repeat the April range. Copilot says guidance was kept, when it was raised. Google AI Overviews gets revenue right but keeps the old EPS range.
ChatGPT, Copilot and Google AI Mode name Mark Ellison as CFO, 4 months after Priya Raman took the role.
3 of 4 engines still give the $0.48 dividend. Income investors will see a yield that is too low.
Google AI Overviews reports adjusted EPS as EPS. Copilot swaps GAAP and adjusted figures.
Copilot and ChatGPT give Q1 revenue, growth and margins as if they were Q2.
Engines still describe the Northwind close and the Consumer Tools sale as future events, and one lists the sold unit as a segment.
Actions in the order we recommend, with who owns them, how much work they are, and how many of the 28 errors each one addresses. Every fix uses channels you already control or public corrections, so nothing here is selective disclosure.
| # | Action | Owner | Effort | Impact | Errors fixed | When |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Republish the Q2 release as HTML with guidance, GAAP EPS and adjusted EPS in labeled text, not only in PDF tables. | IR and SEO team | Low | High | 8 | Within 2 days |
| 2 | Update the leadership page and its Person schema to show Priya Raman as CFO, with a visible last updated date. | Communications and Marketing | Low | High | 3 | Within 2 days |
| 3 | Add the $0.52 dividend to the top of the dividend history page and to the release headline block. | IR | Low | High | 3 | Same day |
| 4 | Add a banner on the Q1 results page that links to Q2 results, and label every figure with its period. | SEO and AI Search team | Low | Medium | 5 | Within 3 days |
| 5 | Send the Q2 release and raised guidance to the market data aggregators that engines cite. | IR | Medium | Medium | 8 | Within 5 days |
| 6 | Publish a dated deal completion page for Northwind Controls and the Consumer Tools sale. | IR and Legal | Low | Medium | 2 | Within 5 days |
| 7 | Post a sourced correction request on the Wikipedia talk page for the CFO and the segment list. | Communications | Medium | Medium | 2 | Within 7 days |
| 8 | Publish a plain Q2 FAQ page on the IR site (dividend, segments, guidance) so engines stop citing old Reddit threads. Do not post on Reddit. | IR and Legal | Low | Medium | 2 | Within 7 days |
| 9 | Publish a short Q2 results video on Acme's own YouTube channel with the period in the title, chapters and a full transcript. | Communications | Medium | Medium | 1 | Within 10 days |
| 10 | Add the Q3 release date to the events page and to an Event schema block. | SEO and AI Search team | Low | Low | 2 | Within 7 days |
Every error shows what the engine said, what the filing says, the exact filing quote, and the most likely source. High severity errors first.

This investor answer audit sample is a full Investor Answer Audit for fictional Acme Inc., made by MS House, a service that audits AI chatbot answers about a public company’s earnings. An Investor Answer Audit is a report that shows what AI engines tell investors about a company, checked against the company’s own SEC filings. After Acme’s Q2 2026 earnings release, MS House asked ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot a sample of the investor questions our model generated for Acme. MS House then checked every answer against Acme’s 8-K earnings exhibit and 10-Q. The report ranks each wrong earnings number by severity and ends with a fix list your team can assign. Acme, its filings and every figure here are fictional.
Read the executive summary of this sample Investor Answer Audit first, then the ranked fix list. The rest is evidence your team can hand to General Counsel or the web team.
An Investor Answer Audit has 10 sections. The executive summary, engine scorecard and top issues answer one question: is our quarter being reported correctly? The ranked fix list says who does what. Error evidence, all answers and source trace carry the proof, answer by answer. The last 3 sections cover cited sources, the trend and re-check, and the filing facts behind every verdict. Each error shows the filing quote, so you can check it yourself. A real audit arrives as a private web page within 48 hours of your earnings release.
Each answer gets 1 of 6 verdicts. Correct matches the filing. Outdated matches an earlier period. Wrong is contradicted by the filing. Partly wrong mixes right and wrong facts. No answer means the engine gave nothing useful. Not checkable means the filing cannot confirm the answer, such as investment advice or analyst consensus.
To score an engine in the scorecard, MS House first sets aside every Not checkable answer. The share of the remaining answers marked Correct is that engine’s answer accuracy rate. The methodology page explains each rule in full.
You fix wrong earnings numbers in AI answers at their source: the pages and sites the AI engines cite. MS House audits the answers after your earnings release, and your team makes the fixes from the ranked fix list.
Each of the 10 sections in an Investor Answer Audit maps to one reader and one decision. The table shows who opens each section and what it settles.
| Section | Who uses it | Decision it supports |
|---|---|---|
| Executive summary | CFO, CEO | Is our quarter being reported correctly? |
| Engine scorecard | Head of IR | Which engines and topics need work? |
| Top issues | Head of IR, Communications | What to fix first, and why |
| Ranked fix list | IR, Growth, AI Search and SEO, Communications | Who does what, by when |
| Error evidence | General Counsel, IR | Proof for each error, with the filing quote |
| All answers | IR | The full record for this quarter |
| Source trace | Growth, AI Search and SEO, Marketing | Which pages and sites to update |
| Cited sources | IR, Communications | Do engines rely on Reddit, YouTube, news, market data sites or our IR site? |
| Trend and re-check | CFO, board | Did the fixes work? |
| Filing facts | General Counsel | The ground truth behind every verdict |

Yes. Your audit has the same 10 sections, with your company, your SEC filings and real answers captured on stated dates. It is delivered as a private web page within 48 hours of your earnings release.
No. Acme Inc., its executives and every figure in this sample are fictional. They show the format and the kind of errors we find.
In this sample, engines cited the company IR site, SEC EDGAR, market data sites, news sites, Wikipedia, Reddit, YouTube and blogs. Each audit shows the share of each source type per engine, the exact URLs, and which of them fed wrong answers.
High severity errors change what an investor would conclude about results, guidance, capital return or leadership. Medium errors blur the story, such as a pending deal that already closed. Low errors are minor, such as a missing answer or an old link.
Usually the Head of IR, who shares the summary with the CFO, and the fix list with the web and communications teams. General Counsel often reviews the evidence section.
